Frequently Asked Questions
LSS is an online retailer of ammunition and firearms to customers across the continental US. We started in 2021 with the goal of providing hard to find ammo and have since grown to provide firearms as well. Since we are online only, we’ve partnered with Spring Guns & Ammo in Spring, Texas to handle all of our local pickups and local firearm transfers. All transfers done locally through Spring Guns & Ammo are considered “In House” and incur no transfer fee.
Our Inventory is separate from Spring Guns & Ammo so we do not have the same products available. Please do not show up at Spring Guns & Ammo asking for products listed on Liberty Shooting Sports website. They only handle Local Pickups and Firearm Transfers purchased online through Libery Shooting Sports. See Local Pickups Below.
** We can only ship ammuntion to the lower 48 states due to shipping restrictions. No orders will be sent to Alaska, Hawaii or other outside territories that require shipment by air.
** No PO Boxes Please! All ammo shipments are sent through FedEx Ground, Long Guns by FedEx Ground & Handguns by FedEx Express.
Q: Where are you located? I’d like to come pick up a product that you have.
A: LSS does not have a storefront, only a warehouse, so we’re not able to do in-person sales. We can ship ammo directly to your door where allowed or it can be picked up at Spring Guns & Ammo’s – Spring, TX location (See Local Pickups Below). Firearms can either be picked up at a Spring Guns & Ammo’s – Spring, TX location or shipped to an FFL of your choosing. But all items must be ordered through the Liberty website (See Local Pickups Below).
Q: Can I pay when I come to pick up a local pickup order?
A: No, since we don’t have a storefront LSS cannot accept payment in person, only through our website.
Q: I’m a business or FFL in Texas and would like to avoid paying sales tax and/or credit card fees for a purchase. Do you accept any other payment methods besides debit or credit card?
A: We can accept Postal Money Orders, but you must wait for it to clear our bank before your order will be shipped. You’ll also need to provide a copy of your FFL and Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit to Sales@libertyshooting.com. Please call or email and confirm which items your looking for so we can work up pricing and send you a quote.
We do not collect sales tax outside of Texas, but we can still do Postal Money Orders if you really want to avoid a credit card fee.
We understand it’s a bit of a hassle, but it’s more difficult to put a stop payment request on a PO Money Order. Just helps keep people honest! PO money orders can be mailed to our coporate office address at 4405 Spring Cypress Rd, Suite 200, Spring, TX 77388. Make out PO Money Order to Liberty Shooting Sports.
Same Day Shipping
We know how excited you can be to get that item you ordered, so we make every effort to get your order out fast during our normal business hours if you order in put in before 12 Noon Central Time.
- If its ammo in our warehouse: Same day.
- If it’s a firearm in our warehouse: Same day if we have the receiving dealers FFL or can get a copy of the receiving dealers FFL quickly. Otherwise, we’ll ship as soon as we get it. You can speed this process up by asking them to send a copy of their FFL to sales@libertyshooting.com and note your order number or name in the subject line.

For Local Pickups
Local Pickup Orders are processed Monday through Friday – 9am to 4pm.
- If you are in the Spring, Texas area and would like to pick up your order, you may choose the Local Pickup option on the checkout screen to remove all shipping charges. This will let us know that you intend to pick up your order in person at Spring Guns & Ammo on Spring Cypress Rd.
- Ammunition and Firearm orders may be picked up locally through Spring Guns & Ammo on Spring Cypress Rd. once ordered through the LSS website.
- If it’s in our stock, we can have it at the Spring location within 24 hours.
- If your order is coming from another warehouse it can take 48 to 72 hours for it to arrive, longer if during a holiday season.
- You will receive an email notifying you that your order is ready to pick up once your order has been processed and delivered to Spring Guns & Ammo. If it’s a firearm, Spring Guns & Ammo will call you once it’s checked into their system and ready for pickup.
- All firearms not picked up locally through Spring Guns & Ammo must be shipped to an FFL that you choose during the checkout process. If your preferred FFL is not listed, send us an email with their name, phone number, email and website if available to sales@libertyshooting.com. We will contact them to obtain a copy of their FFL and have them added to our FFL list for future use. This can take around 24 hours. If you don’t want to wait for them to be added to our list because your worried the firearm you want may be sold before then, you can choose an SGA location as the FFL and send us a note along with the FFL information and we’ll update the receiving FFL in your order once it’s been added.
State Requirements For Ammo Shipments
If your state requires an a license or permit of any sort to purchase or posses firearms or ammunition, we’ll require a copy of it to process your order. Please supply a copy to Sales@libertyshooting.com after your order is placed with your order number in the subject line.
California
All ammo must go to an FFL dealer to run a background check prior to being released to the customer. You can input the FFL’s address as the shipping location as long as we can verify it through an online business listing or website. Otherwise, other verification methods may be needed.
The only exception is Class 03 C&R FFL holders that have a CoE. You can email us a copy at Sales@libertyshooting.com with your order number in the subject to speed up delivery.
Active State and Federal Law Enforcement Officers are exempt from magazine capacity requirments. Please supply a copy of your valid LEO ID to sales@libertyshooting.com with your order number in the subject line.
Connecticut
Effective April 1, 2014 you will be required to have either a pistol permit, eligibility certificate for pistol or revolver or an eligibility certificate for long guns in order to purchase firearms and ammunition.
Illinois
Any resident may purchase ammunition from a person within or outside of Illinois if shipment is by United States mail or by a private express carrier authorized by federal law to ship ammunition. Any resident purchasing ammunition within or outside the State of Illinois must provide the seller with a copy of his or her valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card or valid concealed carry license and either his or her Illinois driver’s license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to the shipment of the ammunition. The ammunition may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.
Massachusetts
A Massachusetts resident must have a valid firearms license to possess ammunition. There’s a twist… Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140 Section 122 defines ammunition as:
“cartridges or cartridge cases, primers (igniter), bullets or propellant powder designed for use in any firearm, rifle or shotgun”
In other words, you must have a firearms license to even possess an ammunition component.
New Jersey
Handgun Ammo Only: You must possess a Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, Permit to Purchase a Handgun, or Permit to Carry a Handgun to purchase ammunition.
New York
The in-person requirement of Section 50 of the New York SAFE Act states that all purchased ammo must be shipped to a valid FFL holder OR a registered seller of ammunition. While that means we cannot ship directly to your door, we can ship to an FFL holder or registered seller of your choosing. New York state requires that a background check be ran before releasing the ammunition to the customer.
Washinton D.C.
We are not able to ship to D.C., unfortunately the laws surrounding ammunition in D.C. make it almost impossible to fulfill an online order. You essentially need to purchase it in person at local licensed retailer to have what amounts to a background check and allowing them to collect tax on your purchase.
Rhode Island
You may not posses large capicity feeding devices over 10 Rounds (Law Enforcement and active military and national guard are exempt). You may not purchase a firearm or ammunition if you are under the age of 21. You must posses a “Blue Card” or Hunters Education Card to purchase a handgun or ANY ammuntion.
